like these things do
we had come out with the intention of buying new as we had been to a clarendon show home site in Sydney
( my cousin works for them ) and decided on a particular model
( we still have the brochure ) all we needed was land with vichular access
we started looking at plots and a new friend of ours who works for lj hooker suggested looking at the house we now have as it was at the right price needing lots of work and the house could be bulldozed to make way for the "claredon model"
but we kid of fell in love with the place and decided to renovate it instead
i`m not really sure if i did the right thing as the new house would have been finished by now ;)
but having said that i have genually enjoyed doing the work and its all the way i want it
