Tell Becky that they always say the best drivers fail first time (well those that aren't good enough to pass first time do anyway!

Apparently the "correct" way to turn here is with a U turn - I don't think I've ever been with The Bloke when he's done a three point, and he stared at me blankly when I mentioned them once. He will drive miles out of his way to find a junction where he can do a wide U turn, or even better a set pf traffic lights and a break in the central reservation where he can loop round on 2 wheels - he hasn't yet realised that it makes me feel carsick, as well as unsafe!

At the end of the test i was expecting to be given a run through of what I did wrong, but no I was told "You are not in England now 3 point turns are inappropriate in Australia, and you did not indicate as you drove round a bend in the road in a car park". The lovely man then got out of the car not even a goodbye..When I got home and swore alot I looked in "How to pass your driving assessment" the book issued by the Department of planning and Infrastructure, it says 3 point turns are ok for use as a manoeuvre!!!!!
so who's right the Australian Government or that F.....G W.....R who tested me.
The nice man in charge of the Joondalup test centre will deal with him for being racist.
But to make matters worse the girl who took the test before me, repeatedly hit the kerb while driving on a straight road, and she passed( I know this 'cos I was ear wigging).
Thankyou I'm off for choccy hit and a bit more swearing

I'm glad to hear that something is being done about him, but by rights they should get another person to take a second look at your test results and just wave you through with a pass.
When I took my test ('way back in the 90s!) I was required to execute a perfect 3 point turn; anything less would have resulted in immediate failure! And that was in Tasmania, of all places! :scared:
Never in my life have I heard anyone claiming that 3 point turns are "inappropriate for Australia"; that's a load of cobblers!

You really should indicate when driving around a corner in a car park though, because they're a high risk area and you should be giving everyone advance warning of your movements.
So sorry to hear that you had a rough time; I took half a dozen tries to get my licence (most of them with the driving tester from hell) so I know how stressful it can be!

BTW, the girl who passed probably had tits like balloons and very little to cover them.

First I've heard of it.

In fact, U-turns are actually illegal under certain conditions (even on some dual carriageways.)
3-pointers are the standard procedure, and they will appear in a driving test.
Turning the vehicle around (a 180 degree turn) in a narrow street is best executed as a three-point-turn. Many drivers for convenience just use a driveway, which in South Australia is illegal.
The three-point turn is a basic driving skill an usually part of the driving test. Unlike parallel parking this manoeuvre requires less judgment, but rather a step-by-step approach.
It is vital that you select a suitable place where you have clear visibility to see approaching traffic and you can be seen, blocking part of the road. Don't attempt a to turn around near bends, crests or busy intersections. Stay clear of posts, trees etc, which may damage your bumper bar, should you misjudge the space available.

Can I also add that I work for a government agency. When i applied for this job I had to do a driving test even though I already had a full Australian licence. My job involves driving various different government owned vehicles and this test is compulsory prior to employment. During my test i was specifically ASKED to do a 3 point turn.
