If anyone does want to stick with IE, and have many of the benefits of FF such as tabbed browsing, you could look at the Beta version of IE 7.
I've been using it for a few months with no problems.
Firefox at least mimics being IE6, thus getting access to banking sites and stuff. The beta version of IE7, well, I've no idea what it reports itself to be, but my banking sites hate it, and won't let me in. Its ironic I have to revert to firefox to get into a site that demands Microsoft IE.

And why has no-one mentioned Opera . I love it, but currently its my backup when I can't get into a site with IE7 beta, then try firefox, then Opera. Opera just feels faster, none of this waiting, it renders the page as it gets it, so it always looks like somethings happening. None of this watching the little blue bar chugging along.

I've been using IE7 with my HSBC online banking both Aus & UK, no issues.
I did have some problems early on with maintaining my msn space but these have now been resolved. But out of choice I use FF.

Firefox is the only one for me although when I am writing code for my websites I will use IE to test the layout, that is about the only time I ever use IE. There are so many extensions out there, that there is bound to be an extension for everything you could think off

Yea same here - only time IE gets opened these days is to check some CSS positioning. With regard extensions, I thought GreaseMonkey was promising, but it appears to have fizzled out after all the initial buzz.
