I know a good deal of you will have been using this for a while anyway, but just letting folks know who might not have it.
I have been having trouble recently with Internet Explorer spitting a dummy when it comes to downloading pdf files from the Net.
On both occasions I was able to download them with no problems, first time, through Firefox instead.
Might be my imagination but browsing seems a little faster too.

Tabbed browsing is the best thing.
That's why I probably appear to be on BE most of the day.
I usually have about 6 or 10 tabs open at any one time. One of which will be BE, even though I might not actually be looking at it...

There are also loads of 'extension' programs that you can add to give you all sorts of extras - for example i use forcastfox which gives me a toolbar weather forcast that (in my case) tells me the weather in several different oz cities as well as at home.
I do find one or two disadvantages with firefox - not all sites work correctly (i.e. those written specifically for ie tend to have problems) and although i don't find many of these the most annoying for me is asda.co.uk and i have to switch to ie to do my online shopping.

I've not used Firefox, but heard good things about. I'm happy enough with my browser though - Safari. Unless of course if someone can persuade me otherwise...

I use firefox, safari and camino depending on what Im doing and have much more luck with the two mac based browsers. I find that firefox just suddenly quits on me or doesnt play well with other software that I have!

If anyone does want to stick with IE, and have many of the benefits of FF such as tabbed browsing, you could look at the Beta version of IE 7.
I've been using it for a few months with no problems.

FireFox has been my browser of choice for some time too - although the recent builds have been plagued by a memory bug which is bloody irritating. Right now Firefox is showing memory usage of 204Mb !! I've been trying out the latest verison of Opera - very impressed by it.

Normally I'd use firefox but since I'm renting a property in the UK of someone who uses AOL I'm having to use a proxy program to connect to the internet and despite having the exact settings Firefox doesn't like the caching on the proxy server and starts screwing about with web pages. If I want to use FF on this I'd have to clear the cache every page.
IE7 however manages it fine, with the added bonus that it has the tabbed browsing Firefox has.
Admittedly I miss my plug ins and I will go back to Firefox when I don't have to use this damned proxy

I think someone told me the reason its so fast is because it doesnt have as many bells and whistles as firefox.....but as far as Im concerned it gets the job done just as well!
