I'm no good with films, 10 mins in and I start asking questions
The last film I watched that I didn't get was the Lovely Bones, so not too taxing on the brain
I read the book beforehand and still couldn't fathom out what the heck was going on!
I'm definitely more of a book person.

It was meant to - It kept you guessing right up until the closing credits as to whether he was mad or not. I thought it was pretty good. Same with Total Recall, only they actually left you guessing as to whether it was his psychosis or he really was the saviour of the martian resistance.
A movie I didn't get: Sister Act 2. I mean Sister Act was bad enough, so they actually went and made ANOTHER one???? Just don't get it...

I have to agree with whoever said Vanilla Sky but also Lost in Translation - yeah, I was lost - completely. What a guff film.

I'm going to nominate A Scanner Darkly.
It just didn't go anywhere, and the reasonably clever ending just left you feeling completely underwhelmed because the rest of the thing was so slow and painful.

I cannot make any sense of the Matrix films. But 12 Monkeys has to be the most baffling film ever.

Liar - Tim Roth and a few other well known actors in it. More twists and turns than a twisty turny thing. Did he, didn't he?
if you liked 'The Usual Suspects' you'll enjoy this film for sure

Matrix for me. And Sliding Doors. I could never work out which Gwynnie was which.
I'm struggling to work out what's unfathomable about LA Confidential and Bladerunner though.

Erm... You do know, don't you, that some films are deliberately written to leave you with questions?
As for unfathomable, any film with Kevin Costner. The plots are usually fine, what I can't work out is why Costner keeps getting cast. Even calling him an atrocious actor seems unfair on those actors who have achieved genuinely atrocious acting.

For exactly the same reason you just gave above. I found it very difficult to follow all the characters in that movie, who all looked very much alike and and bloody thing went on for 3 hours off memory

I thought the ending of Shutter island was utter rubbish - it just reminded me of when I was a little kid and wrote some fantastical stories but didn't plan ahead well so couldn't think of an decent ending.
Standard cheats endings was 'and then I woke up and it was all a dream' or 'and then I realised it was all in my imagination'
I failed all those tests and the scriptwriter failed this one in my view - alongside the muppet that wrote the script for Avatar (if you could call it a script
).
