Moths!!!

If anyone has a phobia against moths please steer clear of our place at the moment. In the last couple of days we must have had a few hundred thousand of the things. Anything painted white or close to a light is smothered in them. I can hardly see out of the kitchen window because they're sitting there looking at the kitchen light.
It's revolting and I've never seen anything like it before. Wasn't like this last year - what's going on

It's the first time I've been aware of it but assume that Jad is right (having been here longer and so notice the ups and downs of the weather) and we are in for a hot one this year. Had a couple of mild years. Got up to about 30 today which is warm for Spring.
You'll be fine, only have the yellow bulbs outside and they possibly won't bother you too much.

Woke up this morning to find a turkey breakfasting on the latest crop of moths. I certainly don't want one of them feeling at home in the garden
And it really disconcerts the magpies by following them around.

, jeez its so easy wee can suck them up with the dustbuster. Not like the flies, that brings out the man hunter in me, I track 'em down and then swat them with my little wand fly splatter stick.Mozzies of course need to be killed with machine guns and rockets

Manuka is lovely, the ares can be expensive, although we reckon we got a bargain, we only live 2 mins drive from manuka centre and find it a lovely place to be, loads of cafes, eateries, a cinema and the open air swimming pool(dickson has a swimming pool too!).
Schools in the area are good too, there is a childcare centre in manuka for pre school and pre-pre school children which has an excellent reputation (that I didn't know about iI just went on 'gut instinct and been lucky!) my youngest goes there I will pm you the name of it anyway.
Good luck with your search!
