Just over ten days worth... assuming posting on a 24/7 basis.

Allowing for work and rest it would be about a month of free time. I reckon I would double the posting time by 2 or 3 giving us 3 months. Gosh ! What I could get up to in 3 months

Off you go then, kevin. Enjoy.

I recently broke a crown and was told it would be at least $1700 to replace.

I'm getting it done when I stopover in Singapore in a couple of weeks.

Is Aussie dental work a shocking rip off, or is the NHS dental system superb value..... or both?

I reckon its what the dentists get away with. Say in Poland etc where there is dental tourism they charge very little (although there are some dodgy dentists there there are some top class ones as well).
I reckon the Australian dentists just have a cartel and get away with it

Aussie dental work is a shocking rip-off. I pay $295 a month for health insurance (on a 457) so I get a couple of free check-ups a year, and I got a reduced-price filling (temporary fix on my crown, lasted a week but I was warned about that).

I had to have some periodontal work done recently and 2 * half hour sessions cost me $1400. That's for deep cleaning, no materials. I've no idea what it would be had I got Medicare.

I reckon that's because some people, bizarrely, just don't even think to shop around, even if it only takes 30 seconds of brain power.

but that's just my opinion, it could be very wrong...

Even shopping around it is expensive though. But you are right, a bit of homework will save a lot...

Ouch. If it was Perio Flap Surgery (cleaning under gums) it seems very expensive..might be worth looking around for new dentist.

I didn't know that's what it's called but yes, that's what he did.

He works till 8 or 9 at night and he's difficult to see - he must be minted.
