Did anyone see Orbit on ABC1 last night?

It's a 3-part BBC series about Earth's geo-science. It's very good and I learnt heaps

Top stuff

Who bothers watching real time free to air TV these days? I record almost all the shows I'm interested in (not many) and fast-forward through the adds.

Free to air TV is crap because there are so many other, better, alternatives out there and they are losing money. The only decent channel is SBS and even ABC is going downhill. Ten has collapsed due to the stupidity to the right wing billionaires who took over it.

I watched it- some of it was quite dumbed down, but the photography was beautiful, and I learned about coral making rings like trees, which I didn't know.

So of the concepts they were trying to get across are complex and needed to be dumbed down a bit

I learnt loads

Aw, it's not that bad if you treat it like the blokey entertainment fluff that it is

I am forced to watch Embaressing Bodies by my OH ... Forced I say!

Moron tv.

I'll tell you something I hate right now... the new Coles ad. To me, it looks like they've got a woman acting like a hyperactive simpleton ... and I'm afraid I'm supposed to find her so inspiring that I will spend all my grocery money to be like her.

Then there's Honey fricking boo boo... Georgie fricking shore... the Kardashians... current affairs stories about bras and bogans... presenters incapable of enunciation... back to back american sitcoms...

I know it's not just me.

Slagging off Australian television is like hunting dairy cows with an assault rifle.

I watch it sometimes- liked it when the Hamster was young, and before it got too formulaic. Clarkson reminds me of my dad, which now he is dead, is a bit too painful to watch. (My dad is dead, not Clarkson.)

Also quite enjoying Continuum, and when that's done I'll take a look at The Americans.

Really enjoying The Americans - great story and well acted. Maggie Thatcher featured in episode 2 so an added bonus.

Not sure about Continuum. Will try a few more episodes though.

Hey I watched Honey Boo Boo tonight with the kids and it's very educational - Honey Boo Boo's 17 year old sister, Chickadee had a baby with two thumbs on its right hand. This show proves what in-breeding can do to a family.

It is a bit much sometimes, I was a big fan but I think it's reached the end ... Unfortunately it's still better than most of the other mainstream offerings.

Take tonight, I have spent the evening with the TV on near-mute browsing t'internet for more interesting things to bitch about.

My OH watches it whilst playing games on his I-pad. Who said men can't multi-task?!

The Rwandan/Tanzanian scenery was stunning in last night's episode, though the flies were worse than anything I've encountered, even at Uluru.
