We have all but given up watching live tv. The endless ads which begin with 'as a busy Aussie mum' were driving me to distraction and it took a good three hours to get to the end of a 90 min movie thanks to the ads, sports updates, news updates, trailers for My Kitchen Rules and shows about fat people. We now buy boxsets or download stuff. I'm not in favour of downloading but sorry guv, Australian TV drove me to it! Thankfully the baseball season started yesterday so it'll be mlb.tv for us until October

I've done it recently with 3D printing - its been a slow burn (I've an object from 1990s), but with the virtualisation of the world, it now makes some serious disruptive sense.

Season 3 has been pretty intense and very good TBH. It's following a different story arc to the comics (if you have ever read any of them) but I quite like the bleak outlook of it and the fact that there is rarely a happy ending. It's very different from stuff like Star Trek and Stargate where everything is always wrapped up in a single (or occasionally double) episode.
Gerry Harvey's still sitting there...

Funnily enough, my MIL and FIL were here for a few weeks and expressed great surprise at the standard of Australian TV. Or rather...the lack of any decent standards!! They found the Today Tonight show laughable and thought it was a satire

Well OK, even further into it, so people really notice .....

I suspect that because deep down inside they know that most people would fail to see the satire...
