22B Did you transfer a lump sum over? If so can I ask who you used? We're wanting to bring lump sum over soon but trying to get a good deal!

You can set up an account with TTTMoneycorp.
When you feel the time/rate is right, call them and make a deal.
Transfer your sterling to them (usually 5 days to pay) (and this is all happening in the UK, so very simple).
They buy your Aus$ at the agreed rate and send it to the bank details you have provided. They do not charge extra for sending it straight to an Aus bank.
We opened a Westpac Migrant Account from the UK.
Just beware:- once the cash is in Aus, you have to turn up in person with ID to get your hands on it - be very sure that you are definitely emigrating!!

We're already here! Brought over our first lot with HIFX but you do seem to lose a lot on the exchange rate with them so we were looking at better alternatives (if poss). Did you get anywhere close to the advertised exchange rate?

OZforex.com.au is a good one and I think they are a BE sponsor.Transfers are commission free if its over 3 GBP you are bringing over. It s paid straight into your bank account.

Thanks for that Wilgar - will probably use them when we move our money across.
