Yes, because obviously anyone, no matter where they are in this big wide world, wanting to return to the UK is mad.

I would say that is the case at the moment, the start of a 70's style recession, maybe another Great Depression, yes - totally insane.

Sorry Renth, but that post doesn't even deserve an answer imo.

Not a great time to be going back, if you have a family to support, OK if you are retired I guess.
UK seems set for a recession and must hope to avoid a depression
Most City economists now believe a recession is inevitable - and are focused instead on avoiding depression and deflation. Edmund Conway reports

There is a worldwide downturn, not just UK. Dont be fooled into thinking Australia wont be suffering either!
For me, a depression whilst hugging my grandchidren is far more preferable to Australia and dullsville

I'm glad you're happy though. I'd love to spend 6 months of the year in the UK if I didn't have to go to work.

Agreed. But Australia won't be as badly affected as we make stuff and have stuff that people want to buy, the UK just had an economy based purely on people spending the value of their houses and bizarre financial "services" which caused this mess in the first place.
