is there more than one airport in melbourne? have just watched the Jetstar ad and says fly to Melbourne (tullamarine) for $169 o/w - tullamarine- is this miles away or something?

Tullamarine (MEL) is the main Melbourne airport.

Melbourne Avalon (AVV) is another airport used by Jetstar - it is much further away from the city and closer to Geelong.

A friend of a friend booked a flight to Melbourne and got off at Avalon. They got in a taxi and asked to be taken into the city. It took them a fair while to work out why the city was so small - it was Geelong....
