I know exactly what you mean about cutaway collars in general. To be honest, I cannot bear to see blokes in normal collars - they instantly look scuffy and less elegant and the points bend more. The points show outside the jacket...and they can't sit as well as you say. I see newsreaders, politicians, actors, and the like on the box and the first thing I notice is the cut of a man's collar. Americans have a nasty tendency to overlook the cutaway, and to make matters worse, opt for button-downs. I interview people for work and wince...if a man knows to select a good collar, to lose the pocket, it says a lot about him...in my opinion.
Might order one and use it as a try and see.

Looking at ordering one from Tailor Store and one from PickAShirt and see what I like.
Do agree with the comments re. collars. Tailor Store also has a "business" collar which sits somewhere between a regular and a cut away that I think I might like.

Go with a cut-away collar. Much better than business.

Has anyone here purchased made to measure shirts (or generally purchased shirts) over the internet?
I'm looking at CT Shirts www.ctshirts.co.uk and www.pickashirt.com amongst others, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these two or any recommendations besides the two mentioned.
Cheers

Charles Trywhitt have a ebay presence in Australia (yay) look for CTShirts
They do a few shirts, lots of ties and some cufflinks. Its based out of gold coast. Good prices but limited supply, they do offer all the shirt sizes /s leeve length combinations
I know its not taillored but near...
I bought some shirts in HK tailored for 50$ each and some in Beijing for 11$ each
they are all same quality. It really depends on the material you chose. They arent up to Thomas Pink quality but they are good enough and they fit wonderfully. Chinese had a bit of a funny fit about cutting the collar wide enough so I had to give them one of my shirts to show them - they still didnt quite go to the dark side enough for me but for 11bucks they're kinda disposable.
