Made to Measure shirts - recommendations
Has anyone here purchased made to measure shirts (or generally purchased shirts) over the internet?
I'm looking at CT Shirts www.ctshirts.co.uk and www.pickashirt.com amongst others, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these two or any recommendations besides the two mentioned. Cheers CC |

Re: Made to Measure shirts - recommendations
i regularly purchase from www.tmlewin.co.uk they often run a 4 for GBP100 deal which, even with postage equates to 4 great quality business shirts for less than $200.

Re: Made to Measure shirts - recommendations
I'm currently modelling a rather fetching Big W number that cost around $15.
Long sleeved and complete with a full range of buttons. It was made to measure, but not for me, unfortunately. (edit) I am currently awaiting delivery of this ... http://mrbarrymorgan.myshopify.com/p...morgan-t-shirt ... don't all rush ladies ... |

Cheers CC Egyptian cotton. The quality is better than my $200 Hugo Boss ones. You can't go wrong. (unless you get the measurements wrong) |

+1 to tm lewin. good quality ties too
I was wondering about this a few weeks ago and as it happens, someone recommended TM Lewin - might have been one of you guys - thanks. I ordered some, with adjusted sleeves a few days ago. They do a decent cutaway collar - the James Collar in a slim fit, as well as a Prince of Wales collar. I hear that TM Lewin are not as good as they were (I've bought from them years ago) but they represent value for money and are probably better than anything from a UK high street store. Their sales model is very much one of constant discounting - weren't we just talking about that here in Australia days ago? TM Lewin also knock the VAT off your basket when you place the order. CT and Thomas Pink are very similar positioned in the middle market and don't discount quite so aggressively and also may have suffered from recent decline in quality in recent years. CT used to advertise a lot in the Sunday papers. I still have a white Thomas Pink reserved for interviews. Another shirt brand I used to use is Hilditch and Key which is a cut above the others but you pay a bit more. |
Re: Made to Measure shirts - recommendations
I buy all my shirts made to measure and have done for 20 years, the best and easiest to order i found so far are Jantzen and Tailorstore both great!! :) and very very reasonable.

I used to buy TM Lewin in London. Sorry but they are poorly made rubbish. Bit of a standing joke in the office that they fall apart after 5 mins. Especially since TM lewin used to drop off discount vouchers at our office.
BTW I did check out the pickashirt site and I was initially quite impressed but I thought the cutaway collars were poorly angled. Either too cut away or not enough. Geometry is everything and I always have to admit I liked the cut of the TM collars. There's an angle and length which gives the right look! I always remember the collars being very thick and substantial, and the shirts required a fair bit of ironing - which I like. |

Dean - I'll let you know how they have faired this last 15 years or so! Could be a case study of a company selling out...have to admit though I do look after shirts and don't ever use hot water or a tumble-dryer.

My brother, when he saw the shirts also bought a ship load. |

Tailorstore is about twice the price of pickashirt.com although they do offer more design options. Pickashirt.com is also a Melbourne based company.

They do offer a selection of different collars. Mine are all cut away and I am more than impressed with them. The collars and cuffs are much thicker than off the rack shirts as well and they sit better (if you know what I mean).
