Lowest max. temperature cities
I & OH are planning to move to australia in few months time.
Which city has got the Lowest 'maximum temperature'; ie below 40 Celsius during summer with relatively low humidity levels?
So far we have found Canberra has best weather with highest maximum temperature of 40° Celsius in summer, and lowest minimum temperature of < 5° Celsius during winter. Not sure if this information is true though , please suggest.

Probably would have been simpler to send ABCDiamond a pm for that info but I'm sure he will be along very soon with the stats anyway!

It depends what you want - it's more the "apparent" temperature that affects most people.
Canberra, and where I am in the Southern Highlands, have some pretty fierce days in summer but, because of the very low humidity most of the time it doesn't have anything like the draining effect that even 30° has when it's 90% RH.

A poll will only give you people's personal - and very subjective - view of where they live. For example: I can tell you that I find the Perth climate great. But then someone else will come along and tell you it's horrible.
If you want facts, look at the BOM website.

Any southern city below the tropics lacking in cloud cover at night for absolute cold... or which attracts lows. There's not much in it I'd say. Topology plays a part too. Deserts get cold..
So Canberra maybe - the altitude? Hobart? Adelaide? Sydney/Melbourne? Melbourne does not get the winter highs that Sydney gets, but its not necessarily colder at night. Cloud cover helps.

Not had a 40 degree day yet in four years here. Had a couple of high humidity days (imo only) but not high temps.
