I want him back in Italy with his tail between his legs and dont want to ever see a non performing ex "Star" in the A league again. Give me a talented Aussie or foreign youngster wishing to further their career any day than these old worn out hacks.

Having said that, A couple have performed OK.... Dwight York being the main example, Jury is out on Heskey yet.

I agree with you to some degree, but they are necessary evils. Our game desperately needs its profile raised and in my view the excitement behind the A-League this season is due to ADP and Heskey

I have to agree with this, unfortunately until the A leauge becomes more estabilished they are needed.

Lets hope in a few years we don't need them however.

My biggest concern is how you keep the young Aussie talent in Australia. The problem is that many good Aussie lad see playing in an English 1st Division reserve side as progress over playing in Australia.

Robbie Kruse was a massive loss to the A league.

It's good to see him performing well in the national team and at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

No way you're going to stop this happening anytime soon, but agree it only makes sense if the player is getting regular football.

I think that will sort itself out to be honest.

Last year we saw Amini signed up by Dortmund only to be immediately loaned back to CCM. I think we will see more of this.

Also, I think the youth will start to realise that just by being signed by a European club does not mean they have made it. The golden generation has been and gone and we are seeing more A-League players actually being picked up by Asian teams and even some coming back within 18 months. If more of this happens then I suspect we will see the youth staying here longer to complete their A-League apprenticeship

****... that was heaps better than expected or hoped for. What a bloody night.

Felt like a cup tie that one.... everyone whistling for the end of the game.

Plus no one on here will relate to this... but I'll say it anyway. When Ange came up and saluted the south end 10 mins after the end of the game... It was just like Malcolm Allison reincarnated.... One of those football moments you'll always remember.

Have a photo of my past...

That was a thing I really liked about Ange when he was here. He was very insistent with his players that they stick around for a good amount of time after the game to speak to the fans. At Suncorp the players would still be there on the field talking to fans 45 mins after the final whistle.

I think last night was a bit of mutual back scratching. I think he realised that he and the team let the fans down last week, but also he wanted the fans built up to show his players that they are behind them and in turn build up their confidence. For me, Ange's biggest strength is his man-management skills not his tactical nous as is mostly lauded.

Only caught the second half of the match last night (due to forgetting about time difference these days:o)and thoroughly entertaining it was.Well done to Victory cos having gone a goal down and coupled with last weeks performance many a team would have just rolled over and died. If Archie had his shooting boots on it could have been a more emphatic result. 2 things of special note to me were the fact i've never seen such a bad kicking performance from a keeper (victory) for many a year and secondly Ozzie do they always let the seagulls in for free ?

LOL re the Seagulls, Sometimes they manage to sneak in when the roof is closed.

Rumours re Kewell and/or Hernandez coming back.

Not to keen on Kewell myself... be good to see Carlos back though.

can't see it happening personally. I don't think Ange likes having prima donnas on his books.

Got that morning after the night before feeling this morning.

What a brilliant pre match build up. The restaurants on Church Street and the pubs (especially the Woolpack) make a great environment for close to the stadium. I was in Parra from 2pm, by 5pm the town was flooded with fans, blue and red everywhere. It was a really hot day mind, could be some REALLY hot pre match afternoons out this way, temps of +40c are not all that uncommon in Parramatta.

I thought we matched Sydney FC and again looked well organised. We passed the ball around the back line well enough but we gave the ball away too many times in midfield, but then so did East Sydney.

I thought one main difference was that East Sydney passed the ball better around the box, they always looked just a little more confident in the final 3rd. Their final passes in to the penalty area always had a bit more of an edge to them than us and it was probably only a matter of time before one split us wide open or forced a penalty.

Wanderers on the other had created plenty of chances but it was a bit labored around the East Sydney box I thought. Sometimes one too many passes looking for the perfect opportunity or on occasions not making the right final pass! Other than that I don't think there was that much between them.

I was a little disappointed with the area in the stadium I was sitting in and wouldn't sit there again for a home derby. The bay I was in was probably split 50/50 between Wanderers fans and East Sydney fans:thumbdown:. But the East Sydney fans you could tell were not normal football followers, I call them Marquee supporters, they tag themselves to the latest biggest marquee and will stop going when that player leaves. One woman sat behind us SHREEEIIIKKKKEDDDD at and ear piercing level every time Del Piero got the ***** ball

I am all for a bit of friendly banter between the two sets of fans but it did take something away from it being sat around those kinds of people. Won't make that mistake again. There were areas that looked 100% WSW.

I will be back for the next WSW home game and I am looking forward to it.

I've never rated Bridge and Kresinger looks out of his depth. That team desperately needs a striker, otherwise they are doing everything else quite well. I've really enjoyed watching them play this season, they just need to get a finisher.

That sitter Bridge missed was appalling

Yep, we desperately need someone who knows how to stick the ball in the net, no natural finisher at WSW.

The opposition pretty much know that is they score / go in front they will win the game. We can't score at 0 - 0 never mind chase a game from behind!

If things don't improve up front we are really going to struggle to win a game!
