Yep, exactly. Beggars beyond belief that a judge could let this happen:blink:
Especially when they admitted it:eek::blink: The justice systm here does puzzle me, I've seen several cases lately where people have had sentences cut for really violent crimes, and yet the reason is something like "well the guy who held the bag the gun came in only got 6 weeks so why should the guy who fired the shot get longer......." |

Re: Is the law an ass or is it fair?
That's just plain ridiculous. I can kind of (not really) understand staying in an abusive relationship but as soon as the abuser starts threatening the children you get out, pure and simple, no question.
As for the three men being let off, that's just moronic. Perhaps not accessories to murder but aiding and abetting or perverting the course of justice or something. The judge should have given the jury some recommendation. Whilst the husband was obviously a major shit, I have a massive amount of sympathy for his family. Hope they bring a private case against her. |

Hope they bring a private case against her. He was apparently lower than the dirt under toenails, he threatened his kids as well as his wife and apparently he asked his missus to chose which kid she should kill. No one is doubting he was a scumbag, but that still doesn't mean she had a right to kill him in his sleep. She poisoned him, shoot him twice and suffocated him with a doona, and admitted it all:blink: Agree, the judge should have given legal direction:thumbdown: |

I can't see it but then how often do you hear of women in a relationship with some git who constantly abuses the child who subsequently dies? There's something wrong with any woman who allows that in my opinion. But then I don't understand how a man can abuse a child either so what do I know???
And yes however much of a scumbag the guy was, she should at least have been found guilty and punished in some way. Surely as Sonlyme says the judge could've given a legal direction that she be found guilty. |

I hope I don't have all you guys as my jury if I were ever to be prosecuted.
