Doesn't seem to be much discussion about it.

What do you reckon?

The bloke sounded like a low life but she could have left him. She and her accomplicies should have been convicted.

That's certainly the way it looks when you read all the details - to have accomplices implies that there was a certain amount of planning involved. Hardly an instant thing.

Yep, exactly. Beggars beyond belief that a judge could let this happen:blink:

Especially when they admitted it:eek::blink:

Exactly! An admission of guilt kind of means you're guilty, or at least it did when I worked for the police :blink: Whethe a judge can over-rule that I don't know for sure.
The justice systm here does puzzle me, I've seen several cases lately where people have had sentences cut for really violent crimes, and yet the reason is something like "well the guy who held the bag the gun came in only got 6 weeks so why should the guy who fired the shot get longer......."

I think a lot of decisions are made based on emotion:blink:

That's just plain ridiculous. I can kind of (not really) understand staying in an abusive relationship but as soon as the abuser starts threatening the children you get out, pure and simple, no question.

As for the three men being let off, that's just moronic. Perhaps not accessories to murder but aiding and abetting or perverting the course of justice or something. The judge should have given the jury some recommendation. Whilst the husband was obviously a major shit, I have a massive amount of sympathy for his family. Hope they bring a private case against her.

Thats right, surely no mother will put up with abuse being directed at her children, even if she tolerates it towards herself?

Exactly right MP. No one is saying he wasn't an abusive scumbag, but the fact she did what she did and walked away a free woman beggars beyond the realms of reality. And the fellas too:blink:

He was apparently lower than the dirt under toenails, he threatened his kids as well as his wife and apparently he asked his missus to chose which kid she should kill. No one is doubting he was a scumbag, but that still doesn't mean she had a right to kill him in his sleep. She poisoned him, shoot him twice and suffocated him with a doona, and admitted it all:blink:

Agree, the judge should have given legal direction:thumbdown:

I can't see it but then how often do you hear of women in a relationship with some git who constantly abuses the child who subsequently dies? There's something wrong with any woman who allows that in my opinion. But then I don't understand how a man can abuse a child either so what do I know??? :unsure:

I think I read somewhere she was with him for many years and he was abusive for most of them and I think I read over 20 years:confused:

Why the hell would a woman put herself and more importantly her kids through shit like that, shit knows:thumbdown:

Thats true, and its somethng I've never understood. I mean, its easy enough for me to see that a woman can kid herself that a guy loves her, even if he is abusive throughout a relationship, but to see him causing harm to innocne tkids, that I have never understood. Making excuses yet still putting oneself through hell is one thing, but to see others hurting too....:confused:

And yes however much of a scumbag the guy was, she should at least have been found guilty and punished in some way. Surely as Sonlyme says the judge could've given a legal direction that she be found guilty.
