You can have all mine ... seriously ... if the mods can make it happen then you have my permission to inherit all my Karma.

That's not to say I'm not grateful to the people who have sent me so many nice messages but that I feel like starting 2006 afresh.

G'wan, take it all :)

Cheers,
Matt

Methinks some of these lounge peeps need a gentle reminder as to 'where' the lounge is?

Clue: It's NOT in The Barbie! ;)

Nah, Ray's one of the paying members here so he can wander at will. I just cant figure out why you'd pay for anything on any forum. Now (so the announcement says) EVERYONE can have a blog for free whereas you'd have to pay prior to a few days ago. I just dont get it. There must be a million places where you can get a free blog space, paying for one reminds me of a dumb blonde wife of a mate of mine who proudly called herself a "published poet" since she paid some shady ripoff company to put her rubbish poem in some book along with a couple hundred poet wannabees. The deal was something like you had to buy about 5 of the books.
This world is full of the gullible aint it ?

I've often wondered just exactly what the benefits of paying are on here!! Like you say, used to be the blog.....what now? All I know is it would take a 'helluva' ot more than that to get me to part with my hard earned!!!!

It just contributes to the site costs, it's only a minimal fee FFS

Testy there fraser. Everyone here is contributing to BE profits/losses
Premium members dont get ads, the rest of us do. They pay for not getting ads, if everyone wanted to pay for not having ads there would be no advertisers FFS

I think you misunderstood my post............I was trying to ascertain 'what' you get for your money, and pointing out that it would cost more than a 'blog' to persuade me to 'pay'.
Obviously the answer is 'very little - maybe even nothing', except the peace of mind that you are helping to fund the site.
Thats good by me......no problems with that!
If one day, I had in the region of 15000 posts, maybe then I would consider giving something back! :)

Yeah, but they are sick of each other in the lounge. Yet they keep scaring off new posters, so they're left with each other again.

Hence they start invading the Barbi, just for the chance to talk to anyone else but themselves.

Thats exactly what I thought!
Since this business with Paul2004/5/6/7/8 over the past couple of days, I have noticed an influx of lounge posters in here. Wouldnt mind but from what I've seen so far they do little but hijack threads and bad mouth one another! At first I thought it was playful banter, but increasingly it appears that that is not the case!

Bite me!

It would be different if they tried to be a bit better in the Barbi than in the lounge, but they still have their same gawdawful arrogant attitude when they post in here.

Anyway, my post was a response to fluffy the campsite layer, who did ask after all .

And it is true, so I posted the explanation of why they feel the need to post on an Australian forum.

as for lounge posters coming here, why the hell not. Ive not seen any trolls around for a while and if a lounge poster invokes lively debate, I'm all for it.

You cant allow a forum to become stagnant, no more than you can allow it to become a forum of animosity. There has to be a balance to keep people interested in coming. There are many passive people here that keep coming no matter whats going on. Its been my experience through some of the Pm's Ive received that while they are passive and gentle in their own posts, they do enjoy a bit of shi* on the forum, it livens things up.

Personally I may be considered a stirrer and that sits ok with me. I believe people to know that there's no literal malice intended and I'm just (many times) doing my part to liven the forum up. Its called being a contributor not unlike any other poster here.
