August has always often been the wet season in the UK!

By then some of the best summer weather has gone I reckon..

Got bloody soaked taking the girls to school today

Faggots and peas for food tonight.......now it does feel like winter is almost upon us!!

I'm ready for xmas........been saving up slowly all year......just waiting for the sales to start....LOL

Did you hear about the schools which have had to shut due to flooding??

Blooming typical, 6 weeks holiday and first day back the schools are flooded out. Loads of people late at ours as the lanes are flooded. Told you it was cold Scott!!

South Wales - down at sea level. Beth is higher up, so she is probably OK.

OMG - Hope it doesn't overflow. The Taff was just about bursting it's banks this morning. We are on top of a mountain, so only have mudslides to worry about....

I hope our roof holds up - 100 year old pottery tiles which need renewing....

oh dear.

my mum was panicking last year with the floods, she kept ringing me up asking if everything was ok.

Thing is:

a) we're on top of a hill
b) there's the basement and garden to flood first
c) there 4 foot between the floorboards and the ground in the living room
d) nothing was happening our end.

It did get a bit hariy when they were saying the dam was going to burst though as that would have left us with no power but thats it.

Well the sun is shining on and off at the mo Hard to believe we'll have to batten down for the next 24 hours really

Fed up of using my tumble drier now.....my washing line is redundant

Hope your roof survives FA......mine too for that matter...LOL

I like using the tumble dryer - saves me from putting the central heating on, then I have a nice warm house and fluffy towels and jumpers.

Went for a swim in the ocean today. Can't say the water was too warm, but the weather was great - blue skies, no wind. Came home and ate my dinner on the balcony it was so nice.

And no - I'm not even remotely sorry.

But, if it's any consolation - the east coast of Oz and in particular the bit I live about 10 minutes walk from - is due to get an unholy battering this weekend with 5.1m (11.6ft) waves forecast.
