Plenty of ppl grate on your nerves in this lifetime celebrity or not but that doesn't mean you can't feel empathy for anyone be a nerve grater or best mate when they're going through something like this. Bless her, and I don't blame her at all for tryin gto make as much money as possible from her personal story, she wants to know that her boys will be ok after she's gone, at the end of the day we all want that for our kids terminally ill or not. Heard on the news today she's getting married soon and I hope it's a wonderful day for her and her family. Everyone does stupid things, the only comfort to me is when I do something stupid a max of a handful of ppl see it ! Not half the country, but dues to her she is living her life not in fear of what ppl think of her or second guessing before she does something. |

Michelle My Mum was given a few months, it had spread to her liver but exactly 6 weeks after it spreading there she was gone. However I sincerely hope this isnt the case with Jade, they say she is in alot of pain and only the hospital can manage that pain. She must be so scared, her family terrified and totally broken. Many of us have seen that fear and pain with our own loved ones, we would have held them and been there for them. I hope Jade has a good support network and I wish people would stop slating her (some of the readers comments in the papers are awful). I dont think it has occured to some people that she is not only doing this for the money but for the company. Cancer is a lonely disease that day by day steals your mind and takes you to a dark place where you have to mentally fight with yourself to stay cheerful for your loved ones. Surrounding herself with people including the camera crew who I would have thought have built up some kind of bond with her, is probably helping her to cope. Everyone needs a hug at some point in their life, we all need support - Jade is no different. I wish they would find a cure for this disease, I wish Jade didnt have to suffer this and what a brave girl she is for putting her boys first. |
Re: Jade Goody
I feel so sorry for the poor girl but am a little concerned that she is now going to marry Jack Tweedy. I fear he is seeing a way to getting rich quick. I humbly apologise if this is not the case but it is a concern of mine. I hope she has good financial advisers. I can understand that Jade would love to have the fairy tale wedding as other young girls do and I certainly wouldn't want to deprive her of that, it's just what comes later that comes to mind.

Hope I am wrong. |
Re: Jade Goody
The reports say her money will go into a trust fund for her boys. If the guy marries her and it is her last wish to do this well, good on them!

Re: Jade Goody
Jade has done an interview with Carole Malone in NOTW today - 4 pages.
I just couldn't read past the first page it was heartbreaking. They are saying she has about 8 weeks left and she will marry Jack during this time. It is so very sad :( J x |
Re: Jade Goody
While I obviously feel sorry for this girl, the media's coverage is ridiculous. I only hope that her children benefit from this blatant publicity
I also find it staggering that a newspaper like the Daily Wail, which has had her as the main story on their website daily for weeks and is so concerned about cancer, doesn't even mention that two of the biggest breakthroughs in Cancer research in 50 years occurred in the last week. After a 15 year search British researchers have discovered the DNGR-1 Receptor in dendritic cells which can senses abnormal cell death (Cancer) and then triggers an immune response. Almost at the same time as French scientist discovered a way of causing Cancerous cells to "self-destruct". Given the papers seemingly endless concern for Jade and her Cancer you would have thought that it would warrant a couple of lines. Perhaps if the scientists had been on Big Brother they would have ? |

This breakthrough sounds promising - fingers crossed.
Neither made it to the front page of the Mail though. |

So do I, lost my Dad to Cancer last year and my wife lost her Dad to Cancer a couple of years ago.
Neither made it to the front page of the Mail though. I have to say that lots of us girls in my office are going to have our smears done this week, I guess when a stranger dies of a certain kind of cancer there is nothing to prompt the next person to have a smear/mamogram. But with someone famous for whatever reason, you feel in many ways you 'know them personally', and like Kylie Minogue with her breast cancer, it makes you think - far more than any other member of the public. Sad but true. I miss my Mum :( |

I feel no more for Jade Goody or Kylie than I do for the person who checks out my groceries. If I found out they had Cancer I would feel sorry for them and hope that they can get through it, but I wouldn't be crying myself to sleep over it. I wouldn't expect Kylie to cry over me or my family if, god forbid (odd for an Agnostic to say that), anything happened to us. My personal view is that it's a sad reflection on modern society that we are so enthralled by these "celebrities". It's a massive industry which these people manipulate very well, often stretching their 15 minutes of fame to weeks, months or in the case of Goody, years. |
