I think the whole thing was a big error of judgement. I see no racist intent but the fact remains this sort of stuff is completely unacceptable. The mistake is only being compounded by people trying to claim there was nothing wrong with it. Here is where the racism lies.
It was just cringeworthy to watch but even more cringeworthy to hear people saying , "oh it's PC gone mad!" and so on.
I don't care if there isn't a black person in the world offended by this.I personally use my own moral compass on these issues. I would venture that the black communities are far more offended by the defence of really bad choice.

I am aware that this sounds quite sanctimonious:D

I am always in MY side of right!:D I am always willing to have my mind changed about stuff. My views today are very different to my views 20 years ago.
Also, quite often on here, I absolutely see the other view and find myself in the middle but pick a camp to argue from for clarity. God hates a fence sitter:thumbdown:

The thing is, I have argued on here before that people saying Aussies were essentially racist, are talking bollocks. I still believe that , like every country, they are marred by some bad apples, but the reaction to this overblown storm in a teacup is making me re-evaluate it all. Problem is, I have never experienced any racism here. Apart from the English. They hate Jocks. I blame Gordon Brown.

I may well be an ignoramous, but I find the Scots are the ones with an attitude according to BE anyway. I always thought they were a proud bunch - seems theyre just as inferior as everyone else wants to be these days. I dont hate Jocks - whats to hate them for? I support every mans right to wear a pleated skirt if they so wish. The Scottish who choose to live in England are a lot more amiable than the rest,
