But it does occur, that's what I find so annoying, that so many from the UK and US are acting sanctimoniously about this whole thing.
Somehow people seem to be convinced that the UK and US are so much more advanced, yet in most respects their racism and bigotry runs much deeper and has much more genuine hatred and problems to it.

The UK is more evolved in this manner I agree with you. It is much more PC than Australia. There are people in Australia who are racist towards Aborigines, which is sad, it is borne sometimes of experience however. There are many many people in teh United States who still call African Americans "niggers" look it up on youtube, several people are interviewed saying tthey would never vote for a "nigger" A couple of people in the UK recently have been caught out recently using the word "Paki" in public. David Walliams blacken his face to portray a person of dark skin, Matt Lucas portrays a mentally retarded person in a wheelchair not very sympathetically. Robert Downy Jnr blacken his face to portray an African American in a film, and gets nomianted for an oscar. Somehow, these examples are just dandy. Australians get condemned. I just can't stand the hypocrisy and it smacks of Australia bashing.
Not sure where you're living but (for now) I live in australia therefore I take a stand in australia. If I go and live in the US I'll take a stand there. Those excuses you use are old and weak. To try and justify a shitty way of treating someone by saying it happens in... is simply stupid.

Australia, UK, US of A - all supposedly racist and yet all hugely popular as destinations for would-be immigrants. I wonder why?
