Some great ideas guys,

I was kinda thinking along the lines of have it as our main house stereo, ahhhh decisions decisions.

If you are starting from scratch, why dont you look at a wifi system for the whole house ?

Logitech has one, sony has one & soundbridge amongst others

They connect wirelessly to the internet for radio, or a wireless connection with your pc, and plays music stored on your PC.

Just means speakers and receivers in whatever room you fancy in the house, play anything you want wherever you want.

Thats what you call a real toy

I had the same idea as you when i first bought my Ipod

I went for the JBL On stage. The sound quality is superb and it's easy to move about.
