The "I'M FROM THE NORTH OF ENGLAND" thread

Isn't it funny how as well as grouping up as UK expats, we group as northerners and southerners? Or is that just my experience

Interesting that we categorise ourselves. Perhaps we are searching for our identity?
I lived over half my life in the South of England & I no longer sound like a Northener but I do consider myself to be one through & through.
I'm a Northener again now I live in Aus too!

I'm another Northerner...although now I live in South Australia I guess I'm a southerner...but I do live in the northern suburbs so I'm really a northern, southern, northerner

I am a southerner, married to a northerner, so you can imagin the fun in our house lol.
The only English friends I have made here are northerners. They don't judge me harshly.

Can't see myself going back to the north, I feel like south east is more my home now and is where I would return to should we return. But I will always be a northener and I always love to hear northern accents.
