...mustn't grumble?
Seriously - how about reading about the mental toughness of people who have got through concentration camps, war, famine, deprivation etc.
I think you'll find that they overcame minute and daily struggles with sometimes ludicrously positive thoughts. Day in day out! Shit now I've torn it!

[QUOTE=ABCDiamond;7044345]Schoolies, yes, I agree, they should be banned. In 5 years time, that may have been a problem for me, but my daughter has agreed not to go, so I have avoided that potential problem.[QUOTE]
Do you really think that in 5 years time when all your daughters mates are going to schoolies she wont go as she 'promised' not to.

She has the money waiting in a bank account, for a trip overseas during schoolies. I get it all back if she prefers schoolies to Europe for a few weeks.

Muhahahahahaha ...
Dream on daddio
I await the outcome with interest.
As for the OPost, I suspect a bit of line & bait in the wording but interesting reading all the same ...
There are obviously going to be those who have found the place to be nay on perfect and those that will always pick holes no matter what their circumstances ... such is life ... to use a Bennie Cousins tattoo slogan.
We are just getting over the hill nearly three years on ... It's 'beginning' to feel like home ...

You're unlikely to hear an argument from anyone who knows me
This is a public forum, nothing to do with legal system.
Agreed but the point of this particular thread is, I believe, most of the shit that happens when you (general) think 'not 100% happy about all this' is nothing to do with the country you're living in. It's general crap that would happen everywhere.
Not sure ABC has said he's always 100% happy - I know I'm not, but it's rarely because of something Australia has done, it's human nature.

Tell you what though... I bet they had some days when they thought "this is a bit tough.. not feeling 100% happy about all this"... because they are/were human beings.. we are not supposed to happy all the time... if we were then sod all would have changed in the last 100,000 years and we would still be tree swinging... its precisely because we have days when we think "this is shite" that things move on.

For example, if my best mate or my partner is always turning up late or is selfish at times or whatever. I acknowledge that as a 'negative' in our relationship but doesn't mean that I like them any less, or that it's their "fault", it just means that you accept people warts and all; the good the bad and the ugly. Same principle.
In order to accept the negatives as ABC claims, you must surely first acknowledge them?

It wasn't an attack on Australia, so you don't need to knee jerk to its defence this time.

ABC opened this thread after a poster, not me, suggested that everything he posted had a positive spin to it. ABC chose to see it as being 'too positive about Australia'

I also posted this as a follow up, apologising if I had offended ABC, but apparently that wasn't enough!

Only real time people say stuff that's wrong is in the Immigration Forum where they may give incorrect advice.

Why ever is it different for a boy to a girl???
Why wouldnt you worry about a son as much as a daughter?? This sounds like a very old fashioned misconception to me....
