Lady Gaga ... First date June 13th at Boondall.
Say what you like but I think she has a heap of talent and business sense underneath all the hype.
I'd rather see her than Madonna (who is also rumoured to tour Oz).

Now for a sideways step ... Alain de Botton ... 24th Feb ...

Some don't like his 'popularist' take on Philosophy but I do and have several books and DVDs to prove it. The Art Of Travel was one of the few books I emigrated with, in fact.
The current tour is promoting his book on how the non-religious can take the positives from existing faiths. Which sounds interesting, to me, anyway.
Given Madge is as likely to actually turn up as Whitney Houston it might be a good second?

I had the same feeling about the QI Live thing and friends confirmed it.
Hey, you're a grumpy old bugger too, you will enjoy it.

Everything I've seen him on lately, I've found him quite embarrassing. Bitter old man bitching about his ex-wife. He's had a few, hasn't he? Think he'd know better by now.

Not unexpected ... I saw them in the mid 90s and they were pretty good but I think I'd give them a miss this time. It's all gone a bit arty farty for me.

They became pretentious and precocious after Ok Computer. All absolute shite since then

I used to like the earlier stuff but it does seem a bit wrist-slitting-tastic these days
I guess I'm just too much of a cheery content bunny these days ...

In case anyone is interested, apparently Lenny Henry is coming to QPAC in June. Don't know if he's meant to be funny or not these days (was he ever?). Think I'll give it a swerve.

He was OK back in the day but I think I'll pass too ... Last comedian I saw live was Dylan Moran, very disappointing considering I like his stuff including the DVDs of other stand-up routines.
