I know I must not get to excited .........but
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470809
This thread was all about people who's offspring are living in the UK and how hard it can be for us parents.
WELL
My son rang last night to say that he is seriously considering coming over at Xmas and staying for a year to see how it goes.
Although this has been my dream ever since I arrived in Oz I have never pushed him. He is nearly 23 and has to make his own decisions...
BUT
I am going to keep fingers crossed.
Will let you know what happens

How great would that be I would get him to sort flights now if he hasn't already. Getting flights for christmas is a total vastly expensive, pain in the neck.

Know how you feel Sharon, my 20 yr old son arrived 17th August on a 1 year WHV, he is loving it and has made hints that he would like to live here too, I don't want to push him as it's early days yet but I have everything crossed.
Good luck !!

Me and you both - I am pleased for th OP -
Amy will be 18 in October and I haven't heard anything since april from her. I have been writing every 3-4 weeks and sending them via Turtletom (who has asured me he has passed onto her).
Don't know if things are better or worse - I suppose no news is good news?

It really it a case of letting them come to you. Anthony made it perfectly clear when I first moved over here that if he was ever to make the move it would be if and when he was ready.
I still don't know if he will definitely come and it will be a bitter blow if he decides not to.
You just have to hang on in there.

Re: I know I must not get to excited .........but
I'm crossing my fingers for you.
We came here 10 weeks ago, leaving behind a 22 year old daughter in UK, who was determined she was staying with her boyfriend. She's missing us terribly (as we are missing her). Her boyfriend is being a dick and she's speaking about coming over sooner rather than later for a month. So I guess we're all crossing everything....
Good luck!
