Personally, the motivation for us moving is the kids.What sort of life can they expect.My 10 year old can't leave the house,as I don't trust what's out there.Guns on the street and drive by shootings are the norm in Nottingham! There's no way they'll ever afford a house(probably living with us for the rest of their lives)If they'll clever enough to go to uni, they'll be in debt for the rest of their lives.And for the rest of their lives, they'll be paying into a system, where they'll be bottom of the pile. Rant over!
Young people are finding it difficult, but where I live there are still some bargins to be had but only just and the houses aren't brick. My son bought a house here for $200,000 it is a small high set but set on 750sq m.The house still needs a few things doing to it to smarten it up. My son wouldnt have got this house without our help ,the costs alone in buying were far more than the uk so all the money he saved went on that we helped with the rest ,One of the biggest advantages of buying your first home here is the first homebuyers grant of $7.000 which he really did need and is a great help,They should consider something like that in Britain now.
Crime happens everywhere Australia is no exception. I was burgled in the first 4 months and we have since got our own house but my next door neighbour has had a lot of problems with Aboriginals, maybe you won't be living in that kind of area ,it seriously is something to consider.My neighbours are new and they are a young couple and the girl is upset by them trying to steal from under the house(they caught them) and then hassle her for money for booze.
Crime doesn't seem to be much different and I worry silly about my youngest and hes 18.
I hope when you move that you pick some where carefully and that it most definitely works out for you, but the place isn't perfect.Good Luck
You pay for uni over here too it isn't free.I don't expect it to be.We pay some he works to keep himself.

given that Bolton's population is around 140,000 you're talking about about 0.6% of the poulation at most. How awful for you.

y do people even quote statistics from the UK govt? tony blair admitted to the whole country that nobody has any idea how many illegal immigrants were in the UK. once the illegals get into the EU they just disappear and really could be anywhere. every day there is a new tax or a new law being implemented to screw over the taxpayer. just today, there are increasing air passenger tax, then they are trying to make people buy a special device that tracks how many miles you drive to tax you on it (pay as you drive). england is depressing me, i really have to get out of here.
