How often do you go 'home'?

Hi
We went back for my mum's wedding this year, one year after moving to Oz. I wouldn't have chosen to return so soon, due to the cost (!) and fear of being unsettled but didn't feel I could miss the wedding. I went with the children and hubby stayed here as he couldn't get the leave.
I'm glad we went back as it made my mum happy but it was all very rushed, we didn't really get over the jet lag for days, then it was time to drive around trying to catch up with the monster in laws (earned myself some brownie points at least)
I wouldn't be planning a return again for at least 2 years, that is, if we don't return for good, but that's another story!

Went back in 2001 and again in late 2005 and havent been back since. The day will come when I go home for good or certainly leave Australia but my best mates still here and it will be a sad day so am happy to put it off as long as possible as I dont have kids, mortgage etc etc.

So far - 1 in almost 6 years.
Interesting but not needed. Can't see myself requiring another trip inside another 5-10. I'd rather go to California.

and it's our most expensive trip of the year, but it has to be done. The families would be gutted if we didn't go. We always have a night in a hotel between families and also a couple of nights' stopover to make it feel like we've had a little holiday. So far it's been Singapore (comfy as a pair of old slippers) but we might look at different routes for July, when we're going over for BiL's wedding.

I go home every day, providing I've been out of course. Been back to the UK once since we arrived. Not got plans to go again but will do at some point, I guess
