We usually do Britain (plus Spain) as the year-end holiday, last year my mum passed away and I had to drive my dad up to Scotland in that ice & snow (worst since 1983 as far as I could recall) to fulfil her last wishes for her ashes to be scattered in Aberfeldy. I guess down in Hants it wasn't so wintry.
