That true about trowels getting a grand a day? Price or day rate? And can we buy a plot of land, get the groundworkers to bung in a slab and services, and buid a house without too much hassle? Do they let you do foreigners out there, cash in hand or is it more formal - I heard it's full of unions.

No chance of a grand a day mate, sorry. From what I understand it's difficult to build your own house as you need to have a special licence and insurance after is hard to get. Most brickies I know who build their own go with a big builder and then nominate themselves as the bricklayer as you can only nominate one trade. Unions are big on the big sites, depends where and how you want to work

any chance u know the Hewins?,(swanson way?) lost their no when saw them last.

Not very good with surnames - tend to know people more on their first names and number / name / age of kids!

Don't worry - Secret Harbour's OK really.

hi jules

back here everyone knew the hewins, it was easier to say as they had 3 kids then had twins and then again another set.so .......7 kids!!!!. i used to look after them on occasions.
we stayed with friends in safety bay in dec.o5, so like the area.(poss. port kenerdy, or where u guys are, i sure know house prices are going up fast...we could yet end up in the Bush !
