I have quite a few huntsmen in and around my house as well as many other types of spiders and as long as you leave them alone they will not come anywhere near you.

Hi all,
Right moved in to a property and this morning i had 2 hugh spiders in the house and a ant invasion. I have contacted my rental agent who is going to contact the owner and tell him.
I have used morten outdoor and in door professional sprays and they still came in.
Do you have any advice as the owner could take long enough to get back to me.
Thanks
Shabee

Ants... simple get the cheapest talc you can find and sprinkle in a line lightly over the entrance path, they hate to cross it and go off else where...

I have just laughed all the way through your replies.
Thanks you lot, makes me feel better knowing I am not the only coward here. lol,
I have none in the house this morning thankfully.
Not sure if I could just leave one in the house even though they do eat up all the ban ones. It made my skin crawl just looking at them yesterday.
Thanks for your replies, it has helped,

Hi,
What you want is a cat that you keep ready to attack the spiders, females are the hunters. But luck would have it you'd end up either with a fat lazy cat or a cat which was scared of spiders
Used to have cats a while ago here in the UK and whenever there was a spider I'd set the cats on it. Unfortunately became allergic to the cats
Thanks

or you could end up with a dead cat .I was talking to our accountant yesterday and he was telling me his dog was killed by a snake last week .So you would want another fatality on ur hands lol

Unfortunately I have an allergy to fur - I had thought about the possibility of having an out door cat/dog but the property we've rented when we get over to Oz doesn't allow pets anyway. Good job I didn't promise my daughter. She goes through periods of wanting a pet of any sort. Can I have a cat - no, can I have a dog - no, can I have a snake - no, can I have a goat - guess what - no. This child even managed to kill sea monkeys and I thought they survived anything! I'll tell her she can have a pet snake or spider but it has to run free outside.
Thanks.

We got up in the morning to get ready for work, turned on the light in the kitchen-diner and one of those spiders came running at my feet
.
I had not seen it and hubby screamed at me to get out of the way, which was a good thing as it would have got me.I dont think i had the same attitude about the creatures of Australia after seeing that one
.
I went not really knowing that you could get spiders that large, but i do now

I held a the most ugly spider at Toronga Zoo... only did it as the lady showing them was about 80 so my manly pride got in the way of common sense!
