OK at the ripe old age of errmmmmm almost 40 I am going to get my learners permit
This is what I need help with, the rules change on the 1st July in that if you dont have your learners permit by then....you have to wait for 12 months before sitting your test....it is currently 6 months.............I have had a read through the road rules but not studied them in great detail......should I...........................
1- Wait for a bit and study them then go for the test
OR
2- What the hell its only $16 to sit it, why not give it an go and see if I pass

Careful with the online tests H.
Rules do vary between states.
If I was you I'd study for a while first.
About 25 years should do the trick

I am probably wrong, but I thought the change in rules only applied to young drivers..? (Not that I am calling you old!) http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home...Young_drivers/

Changes for Queensland learner licence holders aged
25 years and over include:
• holding a learner licence for a minimum 12
month period (currently 6 months)
• the learner licence being valid for 3 years
• encouraging the learner driver to gain 100 hours
of on-road driving experience (not mandatory)

Well I went the day......and I got 28 out of 30
BUT
The two I got wrong were in the Give Way section soooooooo
