It's called "common courtesy" :curse:
This company said nothing to this guy other than they had a job opening for him. They should have managed his expectations better and said so if the invitation wasn't open ended. Instead they waited months, said nothing and then just as he's about to move told him no, who's fault is that
To the OP; go for a skill visa as this way you can pick and choose your job
Chin up and good luck mate

Well as many of you may know we found it hard to sell our house, we have had a 457 visa for over a year but could not move over as we could not afford to pay a mortgage from the other side of the world.
Well yesterday we accepted an offer on the house, it was not the amount we wanted to take for it but in this maket we took what we could get.
Emailed the company the OH was going to be working for to tell them the good news, this morning got an email back saying they have now employed someone else WTF
and cannot afford to give him a job with the economy in this state.
Totally gutted, anybody got any advice what we can do not apart from cry
Thanks

Oh Emma, am gutted for you but at least now you have sold the house you can have a breather and take stock of the situation. I agree with rent in the UK and apply for more jobs, then get your little arse over here
Economy not great at the moment and we are struggling to find good jobs. The key at the moment is patience
