Tangerine Dream.............................Sheffield City Hall '73 or 74' ish
Genesis (the REAL Genesis with Peter Gabriel ) Reading again I think '73 but bit foggy on dates....probably due to an excess of, as Brian Johnson calls it, the Lords Lettuce :thumbsup: |

Shocking video, but this live performance at Royal Albert Hall is probably the most beautiful. The way he gets the guitar to sing like a soul singer at the end has the hairs on the back of my neck on edge! |

That was a good show, was that the one in the 90's with Billy Idol as Jimmy?
I was there! I remember that as the bouncers kept telling us to sit down whenever we got up. |

Did you really do that :scaredhair:
Thats definitely beyond my comfort zone. I'd rather go to Millwall as an away fan. Talk about an alien environment... especially if they work out your from Melbourne. . |
Re: Greatest Live Performances
Elton John at Hyde Park. Just him & his piano, no backing singers. He was superb & the gorgeous summer evening just added to it.
For nostalgic & personal reasons  All About Eve at the 1989 Cropredy Festival. The oddest one has to be Roy Harper at The Wroughton Centre in Milton Keynes. During the interval he went off & had a bit to smoke & then couldn't remember any of the words to his songs when he came back on stage  Alison x |

Cant believe I missed this one....

Re: Greatest Live Performances
Radiohead headlining at Glastonbury 1997 - for everyone that stayed for the previous 3 days of mud/rain/toilet hell it made it all worth it!
& personally I loved seeing Morrissey in Bridlington Spa, the proverbial seaside town they forgot to close down. It was a total surprise that despite all rumours to the contrary he was really chatty & a bit of a comedian on stage, not at all like the pompous twat he is generally portrayed to be. A real showman, & gaw-jus looking  |
Re: Greatest Live Performances
The Eagles at Wembley
or Pink Floyd at Earls Court. |
Re: Greatest Live Performances
Roger Waters doing Dark Side of the Moon tour 2007
Dire Straits 1991 for shear musical effortless genius Marillion in 1988 because up to that point they were different and ace and every kid in school liked em and it was my first gig. Counting Crows Shepherds Bush Empire 1996 - second album, mid nighties music in london was ace OASIS - Just glad I caught them |
Re: Greatest Live Performances
Pink Floyd - Earls Court 1994 - stunning
Fields of the Nephilim - Wolverhampton 1995? (recorded for the Earth Inferno album) Sisters of Mercy - Bristol 2000? 2 hours in the pitt. (Seeing again September this year as part of Soundwave Revolution festival tour) Status Quo - NEC 1982 - full version of 4500 Times. Saw Roger Waters doing The Wall at the O2 London last month, but was in the first 6 rows so way too close to get the full effect....................so had get myself some tix for the Sydney show in Feb and about 2/3rds back. So should make the list next time. |

Re: Greatest Live Performances
Saw Genesis at Wembley in the mid 80s, complete and utter shite.
Led Zep at Knebworth were awesome and Queen at half a dozen different gigs. |
