We are heading back when the house sells, it makes no difference to us really if things get a bit worse, everyone is saying unemployment will rise here so what's the difference.
Ignore the ridiculous assumption that kids are better off here, I have seen absolutely nothing to indicate they are.
If, like us, you really want to go back then do it. Life is too short to worry about what may or may not happen. In 2009 some were saying 2010 would be the worst year for Europe, then it was 2011 and now it is going to be 2012.

No need to escape utopia G and no plans to go back to SA. I may head over to the UK at some stage and try and milk the system there for all that it's worth, seeing as I have the option and it would be fun. The world is my oyster with 3 passports my Australia-loving friend.

True, and they are still coming seeing as your country is such a soft touch.

Choo, choo - all aboard the Pommy gravy train!

Yep, the boys are over there shagging your women and drinking your beer.

Booyah!

...and I wouldn't want to shag a south african woman either so I can't blame them for looking elsewhere

We get the same impression when we talk to friends in the SW, there seems to be a very clear line between the North and South and the figures from the North are exaggerating the true situation. No-one we know is out of work or looking like losing their jobs, they all do the same thing they have always done.

Our decision is too either head back this year, or leave it another year until 2013.

Of course I will need to work (IT) but the urgency isn't there immediately on touch down. One positive is the good exchange rates heading back..

This current situation just seems to drag on, you do wonder how long it will last, what the eventual outcome will be & how severe..

Thoughts please.

I'm not a big fan of Saffa girls either - too many little miss prissies.
Soutie women on the other hand - loads of them are slutty, dirty and have big tits - and are dead easy. Love it G.

Just like Australians then?

I suppose it saves having to join the queue for the South African girls though

No....I guessed you would not have had much experience.
