Brisbane doesn't really have the best food around. But maybe try the Indian place in West End called Punjabi Palace. The food there is pretty good. Not the best Indian I've had but it was fair enough.

Hi Rach,
There are heaps of threads on this topic but it has to be the "Spice Avenue" restaurant in Birkdale, Brisbane. Put that restaurant in the search button above and get a large glass of wine because everything you need to know about Spice Avenue is on there and there are a few posts to go through. Enjoy
Tony

Ceylon Inn, on Oxford Street here in Bulimba (http://www.ourbrisbane.com/dining/precincts/bulimba.php)
Absolutely spot on. And if you're a Brisbane Lions fan you're likely to bump into either Akers or Jon Brown.
P.S. has anyone eaten at Chill on Oxford St? It's one of the only restaurants we've yet to try here.

Another one in West End. I think it is called the Indian Kitchen. Go up Boundary Street to the lights. Turn right (i think into Vulture Street), and it is on your left. It has red signs. Better than the Punjabi Palace.
I've not been there, but I've also had the Spice Ave in Birkdale suggested. I was advised to make sure they know you are a Brit!

You will never get the same sort of Indian food you get in the Uk anywhere but the UK as itsn't authentic indian food.

try magic curries on hampden road in battery point-it's just like a good uk curry house, and when you ask for something spicier then get ready for johnny cash's "ring of fire" the next day!
