I must admit, the AGW mantra is used and twisted to account for almost everything . I’m surprised the JFK assassination wasn’t attributed to some effect of Global Warming.

However, the reason for posting the link was because the public, who are rapidly losing any confidence in IPCC and the AGW lobby, are going to look in askance when they are told about AGW and yet see 50 ships trapping in unseasonal ice.

Who knows?

One - or even a series - of colder, or warmer, seasons tells us nothing about climate change per se. Climate is on a much longer timescale. But when "deniers" point fingers at effects that are consistent with warming *climatologically* we should be aware of the pros and cons of the arguments, not just assume their assessments are correct.

That's why there is such a thing as expert witnesses ie. climate scientists. Ironically enough the weather channel in the US is using the courts as well because the IPCC, NASA etc are corrupting the AGW science.

Where was I wrong when I quoted Wol's comment? BE did it for me so the quote was exactly what Wol wrote.

The part about stopping was a direct reference to the fim "An Inconvernient Truth" where it talks about the "slowing" or "stopping" of the gulfstream.

As far as Gore's lies, well he is an ex-politiician and he has already made millions from global warming, and he also stands to make billions from carbon trading... Gore made the statements in his film and the courts proved the statements to be false. Consequently they are Gore's lies. He has a vested interested.

Wikipedia. Oh yes, what a good and unbiased reference source...

Apparently the earthquake in Haiti was caused by global warming... That is anthropogenic global warming.

Couldn't the British High Court stop it?

That's one of the lies in Al Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth" that the British High Court dispelled. The evidence proved to the court that slowing/stopping the gulfstream was a scientific impossibilty. I guess the British High Courts decision was the real inconvenient truth...

You have to wonder where the British High Court got its evidence

Maybe the Court should have got advice from scientists rather than landed gentry lobbyists?

Is global cooling around the corner?
The UK and continental Europe could be gripped by more frequent cold winters in the future as a result of low solar activity, say researchers

Obviously the amount of energy put out by the sun is something that the current climate models can only make assumptions about. If they have assumed that solar activity will remain as high as it was during the last half of the twentieth century, then their conclusions will be deeply flawed if that activity changes, either up or down.

Solar activity is the primary source of the heat energy in the climate system. Any changes in it will definitely affect the climate, as we know from historical data.
