Hi, I replied to a similar thread before. I soak the pickled pork first as it's a bit too salty for me. Then boil it for a bit, then roast it with honey/mustard and brown sugar. Certainly tastes good. Also several British shops sell gammon steaks.

if your on the gold coast just go to a "super butcher" they sell hams and gammon and bacon just like they sell at home

yep it is salty need to wash it a few times in cold water, then again used to do that in the UK too.

I get the corned pickled pork from woolies. Boil it for about half an hour, then slice it on my meat slicer. Nearest thing i've found to decent bacon rashers. Or if i set the slicer to cut thicker, decent gammon steaks.

I got some today Hooray. So i shall experiment this weekend. And buy the way what is the raw corned beef that i keep seeing in the butchers, is it actually the before product of corned beef or something else ?

what they call "corned beef" here is silverside that has been soaked in brine.
