I have dark jarrah furniture abd some bugger has put a hot plate or cup on the bloody table, which has left a white mark!

Anyone know if I can get it out!

A search on the internet will bring up a whole host of suggested remedies. Search for 'water marks', steer clear of mentioning 'rings'.

We had the same, had to strip back the whole top with wire wool and denatured alcohol and refinish.

I found a trick off the internet, using a warm iron with steam setting, place a white tea towel over the mark and steam over the area for a couple of seconds, remove towel and rub mark, repeat if necessary.

It worked for me

Hi All,

You just use a hot iron (no steam, in fact take all the water out of your iron just in case as this will cause another mark), use a clean dry tea towel. Put the dry towel over the mark and use the iron on the towel a few times. Lift the cloth up and give it a rub. If it hasn't worked repeat it.

I've done this to a number of pieces of our furniture, desk, dressing table and bedside table and it definitely works. Shame I didn't know this trick before I got rid of my coffee table because it was marked

Hope that helps.

Thanks all.
