We were panicking a bit about finding a rental after reading posts on here, butnever encountered a singleproblem.

Got a place in Redcliffe (lovely an peaceful) a stones throw (absolute waterfront ) from the beach! Brand new block, marble floors, granite kitchen, gym, pool - the works.......$360 PW!!!!

Been frantically seeking furniure today - anyone shed some light on a good place to buy cheap furniture an a TV?

Move in on monday, aint even got a bed yet!

Usual places are Harvey Norman, Ikea, Freedom Furniture and Good guys. Not sure which of them you have up there though.

Also look for small independant places. Watch all the ads

Remember to haggle and ask for the 'cash' price, then take the quote somewhere else for them to beat it.

Dont forget to bargain when you are buying your furniture, especially if you are paying cash

If you have any Good Guys stores near you I would recommend them.

Re furniture - REALLY cheap is 'The Warehouse' and 'Crazy Clarks' but you have to put the stuff together yourself. Then there's second hand shops of course.
I love it up there - when the kids were little we used to go to Scarborough for caravan weekends....
