Default flying home

We are looking at flights home to UK (first time back!!) for October 09. Before we book anything, anyone seen any good deals around? We missed out on the 'kids fly free' thing with Qantas (dates too late).

Everything else is coming in at about $1800 per person. Is that about right????

1800 is very good IMHO - I usually budget for about 2500 no matter when I fly. You must be in low season though I think there is a fair bit of competition around at the moment.

We are flying Emirates around that time and they have flights starting around $1680 (book by 02/03). You can now fly direct from Brisbane to Dubai which cuts out the touchdown in Singapore.

*All advertised airfares include the fuel surcharge; however taxes need to be added.

That takes those fares to at least $1850+.

BNE to Dubai is a loooooooooong flight!

I'm flying on Sep 25th from SYD to LHR on the new A380 for $1908 return including tax and surcharges etc.

I searched for hours and this was the best i could find that wasn't China Airlines or had long stopovers etc.

happy to get the A380 too - bit of extra seat width and leg room.

Good luck!

Just seen an advert today for Emirates sale to European destinations, depends what time of year you are going but had a quick look and seemed quite good, includes free stopover in Dubai if you want it.
