Default Flights to Australia

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to post so feel free to move it!!

I'm just wondering who you book your flights with to Australia?
I have been through Trailfinders in the past and found them excellent.
Last summer I flew to Oz with BA (never again).

Any preferred airlines?
Any companies you would recommend?

I submitted my 176 visa earlier this month and don't think I can wait 9 months for my visa to come so I am thinking of a 6 week holiday to Oz over July/ August and want a cheap deal!! (If they exist)

Thanks x

Used both Qantas and Emirates, found Emirates far better. Whether you will find a cheap deal this soon I'm not sure.

Have been back and forth with: Malaysia, Singapore, Emirates, BA, Qantas and Cathay Pacific. Oh, and JAL.

Singapore airlines are THE BEST! Cathay also excellent.
Avoid JAL at all costs!!

I have found STA travel usually have the best deals - but I normally ring STA, get a quote for the cheapest airline, then book direct through the airlines site, it is often less expensive.

I think if you wanted to go the other way, via the U.S, Air New Zealand are the pick of the bunch.

Have a great trip! Not surprised you can't wait to get there!!

We use as do our visitors Emirates but mainly because they fly from Gatwick in the UK which is our nearest airport to family

Mum has flown with them twice now...first time fantastic...second time, flight was good, other passengers were shit b which made the whole flight uncomfortable

We go back with them in Sept

oh just to say we book direct on their web site...... got $300 bucks off the deal with the travel agent by booking direct!

Actually Malaysian has the biggest seats in economy at 34" seat pitch. Singapore and Emirates have 32". I'd go Malaysian since their fares are usually highly competitive as well.
