If I had, that beach would have been packed... just like Bondi.

When I went to Bondi it was grey and raining... hence my comparison.

Everywhere looks better in the sun!

Bondi is a great city beach with a dumpy bit North of hall St for about 400m. Bored of Bondi then there is Tama for the glama, Bronte for the kids, coogee a bs the Bra. Go North and there is Manly, Shelly, harbord, Dee Why etc and more up to Palm Beach.

For melbournians who like to swim with Shipping there is Brighton.

Frankly Melbourne is comparatively tripe for City beaches.

Architecture there is generally more interesting but nothing with a wow factor. Food is good in both places but a true melbournite would never say it.

true, but quite outstanding beaches are available in the suburbs only a few k's out, like where I live for instance.

Also we have no need of shark or stinger nets and 10km long stretches of sand with 2 flags 10 metres apart being the only place you can swim. We can swim on the whole length of our beaches.

Not even the sharks like your beaches.

Too cold for them? Port Phillip Bay - current temp 12.9C!

Reminds me of that time I went in the North Sea - once!
