Finished the reno - in time for Christmas
I didn't think we would make it but it has taken just over 4 months and a lot of painting - I do not want to hold another paint brush in my hand ever.....and when the outside needs painting I shall send for Turtle Tom to come and he can paint for me...Anyhow the pics I have are before and after I will try and attach them but may take a while....

Re: Finished the reno - in time for Christmas
Thanks - the red carpet - omg! That was through the majority of the house too.
The house has a bit of history to it and I love that about it. It was built by a couple called Schmidt on the 50's - they owned the land and had a weatherboard house - they made their own bricks each day after work until they had enough to build this brick one. Down in the bottom paddock, engraved into the concrete floor, is an inscription that reads 'Melbourne cup day 1957' and has a few signatures under it. The locals tell us about that day and say that they would love to come and view their initials.
The couple lived here until we bought it from them - and our name is very close to the schmidt name. Smith. I guess this was meant to be our home.

Lovely, new paint is such a nice smell
Any pics of your kitchen?
We've done kitchen/dining/family rooms and turned into one room, have about half our furniture still in it's shipping packaging, until the extensions are all finished
