Think you would have more dignity than that though really!

A brave friend once gate crashed a wedding reception, he told anyone who asked that he was a mate of 'Daves'

Worked a treat

In my mispent youth I gatecrashed all the time, and had a ball.... Weddings, parties, any event I would be there.... when I wasn't gate crashing I was blagging ... but then that was being young in the late eighties... Act like you belong and no one asked any questions...

The only time I ever regretted 'gate crashing' anything was when I took my second child to a kids birthday party at one of these Childrens Play Warehouse things... ( remember I was the working mum who didn't take the kids to school) .... took child number 2 in, he didn't want to stay, said he didn't know anyone, I said don't be ridiculous, dragged him to the adults with the birthday cake and said Hi I'm blah blah etc, what time does it finish... they told me, I left, picked him up 3 hours later, he had had a ball... party bag (I don't do party bags) slice of chocolate cake to bring home etc

Anyway... got a phone call that evening asking how son number 2 was from the mother of the birthday child... I said fine.... bit curious... she started to apologise profusely saying that they had tried to phone me and couldn't get a reply, and how the venue had let them down and how disappointed child number two must be and how they would be having the party next week at the same place...

I had gate crashed a 4 year olds birthday.... and when child number 2 said he didn't know anyone he REALLY didn't know anyone...
