The EU: A bit of a pony really

Farange is always entertaining. I don't know much about his party or politics but he certainly is skilled in undermining smugness.
So have the Belgians decided who's running their state yet?

Interesting that the unelected President of Europe, Herman Van Ronpuy, is now also the unelected Prime Minister of Belgium.
Haven't they got someone famous they could choose?

I know. It's like something out of V
I think there is some footage of Farage taking the piss out of Van Ronpuy just after he was made unelected President of the EU. It sounds a bit harsh but I think he's really getting at the unelected bit. There's also another good one where he's having a go at Baroness whatsit who's the EU foreign minister. Never been elected in her life to anything.

It really amazes me how our freedom loving nation came to turn it's back on our natural allies in favour of a bunch of incompetent and expensive dictators.

Also the country seems to have turned to the left again. I was surprised that the last election was not a landslide after how badly Labour got it wrong. Socialism and democratic liberalism don't always go hand in hand.

I think most people underestimated and still underestimate the amount of sovereignty that's been passed to the EU. Although the UK has been a freedom loving nation I think the government has always given the people enough to keep it happy (e.g. the last change to the Lords, 12 years ago).

We went from serfdom under aristocracy, to serfdom under industocrats, and now to serfdom under autocrats.
We were tied to the farm, the field, the local castle, the Hall, the Manor. Our escape from that led us to tied houses in industrial backstreets, long hours in dark satanic mills. Now we are tied to professional bureaucrats who wave Economics diplomas.
The protests in Greece and now in Spain are hopefully a warning sign for the EU.

Need a nice simple referendum: tell europe to f**k off or keep getting shafted by europe
and while we're at it, instead of the sweatys getting to vote for independence how about England gets to vote on whether we want to tell the jocks to sod off

Sad to say, we have never really known freedom.
