Anyone got any experience of indoor ethanol fireplaces/fires ?
The ones I've been looking at only burn for 3/4 hours (manufacturer details) but what is the heat output like ?

I looked at them as a possibility for heating during my reno. Took me quite a while to work out that Ethanol was simply Methylated Spirits.
They seem very expensive to buy and run to me. Hence I moved onto other forms of heating quite quickly.
If it's outside heating you want consider this instead. Next to zero to run, and boy what a focal point !

During the teens 3 month grad party
, one of the mates was so pissed he fell into one of those fire pits
Severe burns, ambulance, burns unit appointments for couple of months. His fault of course but what a mess

Hope he comes good soon.

I've got an ethanol fire in my house. It looks really nice and is a great focal point when entertaining but it sadly doesn't give out much heat.
I would say that they are very much a triumph of form over function, and that if you need a serious heating solution to look to something else...
