Default Ethanol fires

Anyone got any experience of indoor ethanol fireplaces/fires ?

The ones I've been looking at only burn for 3/4 hours (manufacturer details) but what is the heat output like ?

I looked at them as a possibility for heating during my reno. Took me quite a while to work out that Ethanol was simply Methylated Spirits.

They seem very expensive to buy and run to me. Hence I moved onto other forms of heating quite quickly.

If it's outside heating you want consider this instead. Next to zero to run, and boy what a focal point !

I've got an ethanol fire in my house. It looks really nice and is a great focal point when entertaining but it sadly doesn't give out much heat.

I would say that they are very much a triumph of form over function, and that if you need a serious heating solution to look to something else...

Thanks - seeing flames adds that extra warmth imho.

How long does yours burn for, how many burners do you have and what is capacity of the tank ?
