Sounds like DeadVim and Amazulu have moved on a stage since the last go around on this. Well done. IIRC Renth was at stage 1 - has he moved on as well?

Personally I'm at Stage 5: There's no way the general populous is going to move far or fast enough to avert runaway. We're *****ed.

The scientists are now starting to find out the reasons why the earth isn't warming as was predicted...

I'm doing fine in that department, drinking industrial quantities of cask wine will sort that kind of thing out.

There are a lot of problems in the world that no-one knows how to solve.

On the assumption the carbon issue is caused by humanity then at least we know how to solve it.

You can either stop generating carbon or balance it. So we could increase photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis is the process whereby plants using light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water to glucose sugar and oxygen gas through a series of reactions. The overall equation for photosynthesis is
carbon dioxide + water ==> glucose + oxygen
6CO2 + 6H2O ==> C6H12O6 + 6O2

Photosynthesis is carried out in the chloroplasts of plant cells using the green pigment chlorophyll. The glucose produced is converted into starch. Starch is a polymer made up of repeating glucose units.
Viagra will of course die a death as everyone will have a permanent stiffy due to the overload of starch.

Just wondered.
And the volcanoes, don't forget them.

Add me to the ever growing BE pile of human flotsum that is Sherlock, DV, Eddie, Renth, Zulu etc etc. Don't deny there's some climate change ahappening and don't deny humans are responsible for a micro amount of that. However that's only because there are humans around for this climate change whereas before it was just the dinosaurs fault.

Oh and just a point of order, argue your socks off about it - if you want but why bother - but stop with the name calling and bitching about people who don't agree with your point of view otherwise this fascinating discussion will shut with a slam of the door.

I thank you.

I had the WORST case of PMT I've EVER had in my entire life last week too...

I'm now fully recovered...

Was that a result of global warming also? Or the effect of prescribed hormones in the drinking water system?

Bugger!!! Do you know how many times I looked through that list to make sure you hadn't put volcanoes?????

Anyway, it pays to mention them twice, they're far more to blame that humans are.

Don't forget the cows! http://new.dpi.vic.gov.au/agricultur...rom-dairy-cows

------------------------------
"A grazing dairy cow can burp up to 600 grams of methane per day. As a greenhouse gas, methane is about 25 times more powerful than carbon dioxide and methane emissions from cows constitute about 65 per cent of the total dairy farm greenhouse gas emissions."

I wonder if Italy are penalised due to Etna erupting?

I had to be careful when writing that sentence.

I've got 'Mr Volcanologist' on speed dial if you need his number . . . I find him way more reliable than 'The Volcano Doctor'.
