I havnt read the rest of the thread, because I didnt want my first reaction tainted.... whats the difference between that comment, and someone up North saying F...ing Cockneys... or vice versa down south ? Or does that never ever happen now ?

I've mentioned it at a few RSL's around the place, especially after a dose of one way verbal traffic.... It doesn't go down to well.

Still its worth it as a last resort, it's a bit like telling a kid Santa aint real though, generally the only person that will get upset about it, is the person on the one way tirade, so not too much harm done.... I wouldnt want to do it as a regular patron though.

Only reason I pointed that out, is my forthcoming trip to North Wales, to see my parents, some pockets there are some of the most unwelcoming people Ive ever encountered..... they dont seem to like London accents, they can spot me after 28 years here. Luckily it's only a very small minority, and most likely encountered in pubs, rather than shops or general out and about.

Got to admit, It doesnt seem to bother my Parents though.
